"Temple Shir Tikvah in Winchester, Massachusetts, USA is a Jewish Reform congregation with about 350 family and single households. Were an informal, down-to-earth group of people with diverse backgrounds, personal histories, opinions, and interests. Our temple building is in Winchester where many members live, but most people come from surrounding towns—predominately Arlington and Lexington—but also Cambridge, Medford, Melrose, Reading, Somerville, Wakefield, and Watertown. We also have members who live all over the world and join us in our streamed events.

We cover the spectrum of religious orientations: secular Jews and deeply observant ones; believers, agnostics, and atheists; traditionalists and innovators. Whether youre Jewish by birth, Jewish by chosen identity, or not Jewish at all, everyone is on the same footing. We dont keep track, but we estimate that at least forty percent of Shir Tikvah families are interfaith, which means if you celebrate both Hannukah and Christmas, Passover and Easter, you will feel comfortable here. At Shir Tikvah, everyone in your family is welcomed and valued, which means full inclusion in all facets of temple life. Period.

Were a multi-generational community, and our spiritual, educational, cultural, social, and social action programming reflects that, although its also very important to us that we dont segregate along age lines. To that end, weve developed an innovative family education program where members at different ages and stages of life find common ground in shared community activities. Our Learning Corps offers a fun and participatory Jewish education for children in grades Pre-K to 7, activities for teens, and programming for the very young and their parents, including Tot Shabbat. For adults, we offer a compelling range of educational opportunities, driven by member initiatives and Rabbi Caris energy and commitment to widening the circle of learning.

Bottom line? Were here because we want to create an authentic Jewish life that works, and you need a community for that. We find it at Shir Tikvah and hope that you will too."
